Cezanne is new to Singapore and i wanted to try it. I choose a blush stick because at the time, my only cream blush is from Canmake, which is amazing by the way. I wanted more variety in my cream blush department :)

APPLICATION |  I believe this is meant to be applied directly onto cheeks.  I swipe 2 strips across my cheeks, use fingers with tapping motions to blend. Then I add an additional short swipe to the part I want more pigmentation and blend with fingers.  Super easy.  I do not set with powder as cream blushes are mean to look skin-like and natural, like you are naturally flushing.  But you can also add powder blush over to further extend the longevity of the blush.

I also tried applying with a cushion sponge. (I use this method with my favorite cream blush from Canmake.)  I use a cushion sponge to pick up product from the tube, then apply on cheeks. This does not work as well with Cezanne because I don’t get enough pigmentation.  I need to repeat multiple times and ‘waste’ more product.  This is the reason I think it is formulated for applying directly to the skin.

LONG-LASTING |  Lasts 5 hours for me before fading. By the 9 hour mark, its almost disappeared. This is pretty good considering I do not set it.

SHADE |  The color I purchased is Coral (02).  It is a very pretty peach that looks natural and healthy.  It contains very fine shimmers, making skin look more natural and glowy without obvious glitters.  This will work for fair skin, maybe up to fair-medium skintone. Shade range is very limited. 

PACKAGING |  Packaging is very pretty and girly, very appealing.  It is also sturdy and closes tightly to keep product fresh.  Remember to close tightly after using, you hear a click when it is closed properly.

PRICE |  It costs SGD15.90 for 5 grams.  You can wait for 20% sale to buy it – SGD12.70 which isn’t too bad for the quality.

FRAGRANCE |  It doesn’t seem to be scented, which is a huge plus for me. I do not like heavily scented makeup or skincare.

SUMMARY |  I recommend this product, however, i prefer Canmake's cream blush just a little more.

I have hereditary undereye circles which is my number one makeup concern.  To make matters worse, I also have fine lines right below my lower lash line.  I can do without foundation but i always need undereye concealer.

This is the fullest coverage concealer i own (equivalent to Cle De Peau concealer stick). Its a thick creamy consistency.   I squeeze a tiny dot onto my palm, warm it up slightly with my finger.  Then I pad it onto my undereye circles.  For higher coverage, I use a small synethic concealer brush to pad it on.  I avoid the area directly under my lower lash line, where most of my fine lines are.  This reduces creasing and also looks more natural.  I then set with loose powder.

It applies very easily this way and doesn't look cakey, even when I have dry skin under my eyes.  It performs very similarly to Cle De Peau. 

It wears very well throughout the day, minimal creasing, even after a light workout.  I can see small beads of perspiration on the area I concealed and it looked completely fine!! Where there are mild creases, because of the creamy texture, I can use my fingers to blend it away.  On normal days without sweating, it stays put all day.  I'm blown away by this concealer!!!

Pro:

- Full coverage 

- Minimal creasing in the fine lines under my eyes

- Need very little product, the travel size would last me at least a year if not more

- Long lasting and water/sweat resistant

- Reasonably priced

Con:

- Very thick and not easily blendable. However, if you use the correct method, it applies easily 
- Anti-aging claim.  Even if its true, its totally unnecessary in my opinion.  Anti-aging is skincare's job, makeup should just be makeup and not try to be both.  Any added skincare benefit in makeup will only make this product more expensive than it has to be.  I apply eye cream before makeup anyway, this is duplication and unnecessary.

OVERALL:

I'm blown away by this concealer.  Amazing coverage, long lasting, looks natural & creases minimally.  I use my fingers to tap the creases away during the day, easy breezy.  Lastly its reasonably priced while performs similarly to Cle De Peau.  The finish is slightly different, It Cosmetic has a more skinlike finish while Cle De Peau is more matte  (for dry skin, I'm not sure how it performs on oily skin)

Highly, highly recommended.

This palette is one of the most beautiful I've seen and own!  The palette feels solid, looks beautiful and I love that its so shiny.

The product are all extremely pigmented, both highlighters are very beautiful with fine shimmers, you will definitely love them.  On the other hand, they feels alittle soft and do kick up some powder when I dip my brush into it.  By that I mean, the powder is not as tightly pressed as Nars or Mac's blushes for example.  It seems to me they might shatter easily.

The compact has a large mirror which I love, and it opens approximately 150 degrees (Check out picture below, for reference 180 degrees is where the compact opens completely flat. 90 degrees is a right angle), which is amazing.  You'll appreciate it after owing products like Burberry's blushes, which opens approximately 90 degrees.  However, the hinges isn't tight enough, if I want the mirror to stay at another angle, say 120 degrees, it will drop to its maximum with any movement. But that could just be a flaw with my compact and others may not have that problem.

Of the blushes, my favorite is Pamplemousse.  Its a beautiful strawberry red with tiny and sparse imperceptible shimmers.  Rose Spritz is extremely shimmery, will work over matte blush when you want a glow on your cheeks.  Amaretto doesn't work on my skintone (I'm ethnically Chinese for reference), I'd probably use it as an eyeshadow color.  

I recommend using brushes like Wayne Goss' No. 14 or The Air-Brush with this palette.  Because all the shades are so pigmented, these brushes will pick up the right amount and give a beautiful application.

Tarte Tarteist Contour Palette Review

Price: SGD 69 / US$ 45 from Sephora

I was so excited to get the palette when I saw it on social media. The palette looked beautiful! Love the shiny gold packaging, with 6 shades in circular layout, gorgeous!

It has 2 setting powders, 2 contour shades, 1 blush & 1 highlight shade. Seems perfect!





Here's a breakdown:

• The first 2 shades are setting powders (well, to me at least). They are matte & are what Tarte calls a Highlight shade - light skintone, & Correct - yellow or banana shade.  They are too sheer to hightlight or correct. I use them on each side of my face and i cannot see any difference.  They are fine as setting powders for light to medium skintones.
  
• Shade 3 & 4 are contour shades. They are completely matte & neutral toned, not too warm nor too cool. They will work for most skintones. I'm NC25 and I only use the lighter contour shade. The darker contour shade can be mixed with the the lighter shade to customize whats right for you. Between the two, they can cater to a very wide range of skintones. I really like the contour shade because it looks very natural.
•  Shade 5 is a matte dusty pink blush for light to medium skintones.
• Shade 6 is a very sheer white powder with extremely fine shimmers. It is a subtle highlight for light to light medium skintone. It will work as a beautiful but subtle eyeshadow as well. Because its very sheer, you will need to pack it on to be more visible. And because its white with silver shimmers, it can look angelic and very beautiful. Many people has commented they do not like this shade and I know where they are coming from. Its nothing like the popular highlight shades ie. Becca where you can achieve a noticeable glow. This is very subtle in comparison.

PRO

• Large mirror that opens 180 degrees, so useful. I really don't like compacts that opens just 90 degrees. I hate having to angle it so that i can see the mirror instead of the way I'm used to
• Love the round layout, its so beautiful
• Contour shades are matte, neutral toned and can work for most skintones
• Smells lightly chocolatey

CON

• There isn't a noticeable difference between shade 1 & 2, they could do away with one of them
• The blush shade is fine but I wish its much nicer. How about a shade similar to expose and another brighter shade like blissful
• I wish it includes an actual highlight shade like Stila Kitten
• The powders don't feel buttery and soft, but they are finey milled and not too bad
• This palette will not work for dark skintones so i'm not sure why they include shade 4, the darker contourshade. Its so dark, it would look pretty unnatural for light to medium skintones. A little can ony be used to mix with the lighter contour shade to beef it up.
• I wish the front of the compact is a shiny metalic like the back and sides. I don't like how it looks.
• The surface of the pans get scratched extremely easily. You can see from the pictures, those are not powder marks. I tried cleaning them but they are actually tiny scratches and can't be removed.

There you go. It may not be a fantastic palette but its pretty comprehensive. I have powder, contour and blush in one.
